The Food and Drug Administration has granted tentative approval of a generic version of Pfizer’s Viagra to treat erectile dysfunction, the agency said in a statement.
The product is the second of three products currently under review by the Food and Drug Administration, which will be sold at a cheaper, generic equivalent.
The first, Pfizer’s Viagra, was introduced in 1998 and the first prescription drug for erectile dysfunction in more than 60 years, and has been approved by the FDA for more than 50 years, the agency said.
Pfizer is still developing its version of the drug, and the company has not made a decision on its successor. Pfizer has been working on a generic version of Viagra since its patent expired in June 2008.
Originally developed by Pfizer Inc., the drug was approved for use in men between the ages of 18 and 64. The drug is effective for a minimum of 30 days, and is not intended to be used as an over-the-counter medication.
Viagra is sold over the counter in more than 100 countries, including the U. S. and Europe. It was the first drug approved for treatment of erectile dysfunction. It has been available since 1998, but has been rejected twice since its patent expired.
Under the terms of the agency’s approval request, Pfizer will make available a generic version of Viagra at a generic equivalent price to treat ED, and will offer a free trial of the drug for patients over the age of 18. The generic will cost about $25.
Under the terms of the drug’s expiration, Pfizer will sell the drug exclusively for marketing purposes, and has been testing it on a number of other products.
The company has also been developing a new formulation of the drug, called Mevacor, which is to be marketed as a treatment for Raynaud’s phenomenon, a medical condition that affects pain and inflammation. The FDA has said that Raynaud’s condition may be a side effect of the drug and that the company plans to take the drug on a more long-term basis.
“Pfizer is committed to developing new medicines that improve the lives of millions of people worldwide,” said FDA Commissioner Scott Faden. “The agency believes that we have the resources and the tools to do this.”
The company is awaiting FDA approval for a generic version of Viagra to treat ED, which would cost about $15 a tablet.

The company is also considering its decision to halt production of a generic version of Viagra, the agency said. The drugmaker is also considering developing a new formulation of Viagra, called Mevacor, to treat Raynaud’s phenomenon.
In May 2012, the FDA approved Pfizer’s Viagra for the treatment of Raynaud’s phenomenon. It is the first drug approved to treat the condition and was developed by Pfizer’s New England Compounding Laboratories.

Taken by Chinese regulators last summer, the little blue pill has been a boon for men, a boon for many, who have lost their erectile dysfunction pills in the years after their first, or second, attempt at erection.
But the pill has also proven to be less effective than Viagra or Levitra in treating erectile dysfunction. This leaves some men, and some doctors, facing the challenge of choosing between the two, with their patients facing the same problem.
Dr. Andrew Rabinow, a professor at the University of Queensland, said that if the two drugs are not in balance, the issue could come down to the patients. "We don't know for sure," he said.
But he said that in the short term, many men, whether from China or elsewhere, do not want to be taking these pills, which are sold in bulk under different names.
In the United States, the pill is a generic version of the little blue pill. In Europe, it has been widely marketed. The drug is not officially approved for use in any form. But many men who have been prescribed it say it has helped them to feel more aroused and to have a stronger erection than before.
Rabinow said the drug is an effective treatment for ED, but it is not without its drawbacks. For example, the drug can cause nausea, vomiting, headaches, diarrhea, stomach upset and other side effects, which is serious.
He said the pills are not as effective as Viagra or Levitra, which are similar in efficacy to the drugs. In fact, the drug has not been approved for use in any form. "It is a very difficult choice for most people to take," Dr. Rabinow said.
In addition, some patients may need to use another drug to treat their ED, or another drug to treat the other condition. The treatment should be simple and effective. "There's nothing wrong with taking a pill, but they shouldn't take it if they have any other problems," Dr.
In fact, most men who have had sex and do not have ED will have an adverse reaction to the treatment. The problem is that most men, whether from China or elsewhere, do not seek treatment for the condition. "The only way to get help is to get treatment," Dr.
The two drugs work in different ways to treat different conditions, and are both effective, but they need to be taken at the same time. "For example, Viagra has been very effective for some patients, but the ED is just the most common side effect," Dr. "But for the other problem, this doesn't work. There's nothing wrong with taking Viagra. It's very effective for treating ED, and I've found that it's really not effective for ED as a side effect."
Rabinow said that while it can be used as a treatment for ED, the drugs can be prescribed to some men who have not had sex. This is because the drugs have not been approved for use in any form. "They can't be prescribed to people who have had a problem with erectile dysfunction, and they need to have sexual intercourse every time they want to have sex," he said.
Other men who have not been prescribed the drugs are not advised to take them, and can get help with the problem.
Rabinow said that he has had three conversations with patients who have had an erection, and the drug worked for them. But he said it does not mean that there is any issue with the drugs. "It's just a matter of people deciding that these are the most effective treatments for ED and they want to take them as they please," he said.
Rabinow said that if a man had to stop taking the pill, he may have to wait until the medication has been completely discontinued, to allow for the drugs to be used again. "These drugs should be used again as soon as possible. There's no reason for it to be taken for another three months or more," he said.
Rabinow said the drug did not appear to be an effective treatment for ED, but he noted that he had heard of two other cases where the drug helped people to have a stronger erection. He also said that it may not be the best treatment for all men, but there is no clear winner in terms of whether the two drugs work.
He said that the treatment for ED is different than the one used for the other condition. "The problem is that it's not completely understood why that was the case. For some people, this is simply a case of taking Viagra.
